Halfway house

Independent living in a safe, supportive, sober setting

Recovery thrives when you’re in the right place and with the right people

Getting sober is tough, especially alone. Those first months after rehab? Critical. You need a safe, supportive space – physically and emotionally. If staying sober solo worries you, or your home life isn’t conducive to recovery, a halfway house bridges the gap. It gives you structure and support, setting you up for long-term success.

Build your new life in a supportive, safe, home-like environment

Our Halfway Houses are a part of the Houghton House group of treatment centres with over 25 years of experience in addiction recovery.

Our supervised, home-like residences provide a comfortable environment for men and women who have completed inpatient treatment but need additional support before fully returning to everyday life.

Here’s what we offer:

  • A sober living space
  • Emotional support from staff and peers
  • A structured environment with random substance tests and strict curfews
  • A safe transition between rehab and independent living

A group of growth-minded people, all focused on recovery

  • Strengthen your sobriety skills in a structured, supportive setting
  • Reconnect with work or job-hunt while living in a recovery-focused community
  • Benefit from ongoing support as you navigate the challenges of early recovery
  • Build self-sufficiency and life skills through communal living
  • Access to professional staff and community resources to help you thrive

Our halfway houses give you a balance of independence and accountability

  • A comfortable, well-equipped home with beautiful gardens, WiFi & facilities
  • Dedicated house managers providing guidance and support
  • Regular drug and alcohol testing to maintain a safe, sober environment
  • Participation in recovery activities, including 12-step meetings and relapse prevention groups

A halfway house is a stepping stone to long-term recovery

A halfway house is a crucial stop on your recovery journey, not your final destination. It bridges the gap between rehab and independence, helping you build strength and skills. While there’s no strict time limit, we recommend staying between 3-12 months. Many residents find that a full year gives them the foundation to create a fulfilling, substance-free life beyond these walls.
