A Complete Spectrum of Patient Care Services:
Screening
By evaluating the psychological, social and physical symptoms of substance abuse help us to determine the severity of addiction and most suitable treatment.
Medical Assessments
Our Medical doctors are specialists in addiction. After a medical examination and assessment, they establish a physical review as well as a full health history to determine any health risks or other synchronous mental health conditions. The client’s detoxification regiment is then tailor-made to best suit their medical needs.
One-on-one Counseling
Individual counseling is a collaborative effort between the individual and their counselor. The overall goal is to create a supportive and confidential environment for the individual to address their problems. One-on-one counseling enables the patient to identify and confront the damaging effects of their addiction, allowing them to address their denial, and motivates them to a full road of recovery.
Group Therapy
Group therapy sessions are a powerful tool for growth and change, and are vital for those struggling with any addiction. It provides patients with the unique opportunity to interact and identify with their peers and to work towards improving their own lives. Group therapy can counteract feelings of loneliness since they connect and feel familiar with the group as they often share similar feeling, experiences and problems.
Addiction Education
Patient education consists of workshops, lectures and audio-visual presentations. Clients are given the opportunity to learn about substance abuse and the various effects it can cause on their bodies and minds. We also inform and educate patients how to identify and deal with the high-risk situations which they may be faced with. Clients are able to being their recovery with the tools we provide them from counseling and education to relapse prevention and support.
Re-integration Programs
We continue to work with every client on their post-treatment reintegration. As part of the recovery process we meet with our patients and their families to determine the best course of action to take, after a patient has left our facility. In addition we provide extracurricular recovery group sessions and a therapeutic Safe House to ensure that our clients have an optimum environment to aid them with their recovery.
Fitness and Health Care
Good health and a physical well-being are vital on a successful road to recovery. During treatment, clients are encouraged to exercise on a daily basis and eat three nutritionally-balanced meals a day. Our well skilled doctors and nurses are readily available to assist our clients with their medical requirements.
Relapse Prevention
The risk of relapse is common within all addictive disorders. All addicts need to have a relapse prevention plan to ensure their sustained recovery. To further help our patients with their journey to recovery, the Houghton House Group offers a post-treatment Relapse Prevention program.
Family Groups & Therapeutic Support
With every person that may be afflicted by substance abuse there are more people who are also affected by it. This is the key reason we offer family group and therapeutic support for the loved ones of addicts to help shed light on the disease of alcoholism and addiction.
