Meth Addiction
Meth is a pure chemical mess, which is why meth addiction is so dangerous. Anti-freeze does great damage to the body and is one of the ingredients that cause meth addiction. Furthermore meth contains alkaline batteries, cat litter, matches and antitussive. Although the antitussive is a product used daily, normal humans don’t think about cat litter, alkaline batteries or even anti-freeze agents that they are inserting in their body! Meth is absorbed into the body by snorting, smoking or injecting it.
The effects and implications of meth addiction
The meth addict feels very energetic and cheerful when the drug is in their body. They seem to be on top of the world. It also increases the sex drive of the addict. Soon the body craves more, and the user is addicted to meth. With all that energy the addict can’t sleep and becomes tired and thus will often start using meth to get rid of that tiredness. The personality of a meth addict can change substantially and aggression can even occur. The meth addiction will cause hallucinations and the addict will become paranoid. The appetite is reduced allowing the addict to become emaciated, and the teeth will eventually rot away and fall off.
When using meth, the addict feels that insects are crawling all over their skin. Most meth addicts are therefore covered by bumps and wounds from scratching. Meth addicts will experience problems with their liver, kidneys, lungs, heart, and death may eventually occur over a period of time.
Kicking meth addiction is not easy and even after months without meth; the withdrawal symptoms are still there. This is not strange because pure poison in your body won’t just disappear and many bodily functions are severely affected. It takes quite a long time for the effects to disappear. We shouldn’t let a meth addiction win so we need to keep encouraging addicts to seek help. Rehab is never too late and is a very big step in the right direction.
Prevention is better than cure and you should never start experimenting with this deadly drug because you will greatly regret it.
