Outpatient programmes

Because not all individuals are able to attend a residential treatment programme, which require them to check in and stay on site for the full duration of their treatment, the Houghton House Group outpatient programmes caterers for both primary and secondary care. This gives patients the opportunity to get help without staying overnight.

The programme focuses on behavioural, attitudinal and lifestyle changes.

Our outpatient programme provides alcoholics and drug addicts with strategies to manage their addictive behaviours on a day to day basis.

The programme is modelled on the same premise as the residential programme. Essential elements of the full-time programme have been selected and combined to provide a condensed version for individuals who are unable to check in to the facility.

The outpatient programme consists of:

  1. Individual therapy;
  2. Educational groups;
  3. Re-integration assistance; and
  4. Family workshops.

Our programme is run over eight weeks. Interventions are run every day after hours by a professional and dedicated team of addiction and alcoholism counsellors.
